The Consulate General of the Republic of the Philippines in Abu Dhabi was formally inaugurated on 06 April 2004 by Hon. Delia D. Albert, Secretary of Foreign Affairs.  It was headed by Mr. Generoso G. Calonge, Consul General.

The Consulate General provides necessary services and assistance to Filipino nationals within its jurisdiction (Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah).  The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi holds jurisdiction over consular and related services and assistance for Filipino nationals in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The Consular Section provides documentation services to Filipino nationals and also to other nationalities who wish to travel to the Philippines. 

Assistance to Filipino nationals in distress is a priority area of service extended by the Consulate to Filipino nationals in the United Arab Emirates.

The Consulate also coordinates with and provides support to the Philippine Trade Representative in the promotion of bilateral commerce and trade between the Philippines and the UAE.
